Two best mates making a homemade porno for an art project might sound like the latest gross-out frat boy teen comedy, but Humpday has more than one surprise in store and takes bromance to a whole new level.
The guys in question (Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard) are the ones having sex with each other; one is married, the other a knockabout openminded man of the world – they're straight, but that's what makes it art!.
But can they actually go through with it when the time comes? What could have been a crass and vulgar gagfest is instead a sensitive, funny and insightful look at the nature of friendship, sexuality, marriage and male bonding. It's talky, but at least the characters have something to say.
