Matt Damon reteams with Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass for another relentless action thriller, this time set during the 2003 Iraq conflict when the Weapons of Mass Destruction were still a frightening possibility.
Green Zone drops Damon in the war zone, as a rogue US Army officer who finds himself caught in a web of misleading information and conflicting regimes.
Greengrass opts for the grainy, handheld look that gave his Bourne films and United 93 their considerable punch and DOP Barry Ackroyd, who brought the same level of gritty realism to The Hurt Locker, delivers the goods.
This taut political thriller that exposes the Bush administration’s blatant deception is a terrific companion to both the Bourne films and the aforementioned Best Picture Oscar winner.
STARRING: Kinnear, Greg, Damon, Matt, Gleeson, Brendan, Gleeson, Brendan, Isaacs, Jason, Abdalla, Khalid, Ryan, Amy.
