Top end menswear designer Tom Ford proves he’s no slouch behind the camera either, with directorial debut and self-funded labour of love A Single Man.
Based on a 1964 novel, Colin Firth is an English professor contemplating suicide following the death of his longtime lover, Matthew Goode.
His grief proves attractive and plans to cut the mortal coil are complicated by advances from a student, a Spanish hustler, and even his best friend, Julianne Moore.
A meditation on love and loss that manages to be ravishing on the eye and poignant for the heart, Colin Firth received the 2010 BAFTA Award as well as a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his role here.
