Real-life couple Drew Barrymore and Justin Long head the cast of this appealing romantic comedy, which has enough grossout moments to keep lads happy, too.

Barrymore plays Erin, a Californian journalism student on work experience in the Big Apple, who one night enjoys a drunken hook-up with lowly record company exec Garrett (Long).

What starts out as a casual fling soon blossoms into a serious romance, so when Erin has to return home, the couple decide to try their hand at long distance love until she can land a newspaper job in New York.

However, it’s not long before their enforced separation begins to put a strain on their relationship.

Barrymore and Long make for likable leads, although the best gags go to the pair’s meddlesome friends and family, notably Christina Applegate as Erin’s suspicious sister and Garrett’s slacker roommates (Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis).
