How do you make a movie about online phenomenon Facebook without it being just a lot of shots of computer screens and people typing on keyboards?

You make it about the controversial circumstances in which it was founded, which is what director David Fincher (Fight Club) has done with The Social Network.

When Harvard student and über nerd Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) is approached by fellow students to build them a website that will connect the campus, he instead swipes the idea for himself and (The) Facebook is born. And so are a number of lawsuits.

Armed with a snappy script from Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing), The Social Network is a case of every element of filmmaking being pitch perfect – crackling dialogue, inventive cinematography, brilliant performances and ambient score.

One of the year's best movies.

STARRING: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake

This isn't just a movie about the creation of Facebook, it's also a movie about friendship, betrayal, crazy arsonist stalkers, power, greed, getting drunk, and doing terrible stupid things that just make you want to bang your head until you forget those stupid things you did that one night when everything was simpler.Straight from the start, the script exudes absolute wit, while maintaining the precarious balance between drama and humour. The first scene alone is some of the most intelligent pieces of writing I've ever witnessed and it continues to the end with the same level of brilliance. The cast is comprised of superbly talented young actors who absolutely command the stage the moment they step on screen. Paying attention to every last twitch of their respective characters, they perfectly act with astonishingly clever witticism, heartfelt emotion, and begrudging honesty. I honestly could not love this movie any more than I do now and if I did, I would be is serious fear of spraining some sort of muscle. It truly deserves every single piece of praise it has received.
