Remaking a Dudley Moore comedy classic with Russell Brand might not sound like a good idea, but thankfully Arthur also features the great Helen Mirren.

This 2011 update basically follows the plot of the 1981 original – Arthur (Brand) is a boozing playboy and heir to a business empire, who must agree to an arranged marriage (with Jennifer Garner) or lose his huge inheritance.

But Arthur fancies somebody else, and not even his longtime nanny (Mirren, taking over the John Gielgud role from the original) can reign in his wild lifestyle. Ultimately, Arthur must choose between money and true happiness.

This well intentioned (but not really necessary) remake is predominantly a showcase for its star's loud, er, brand of comedy.
