The latter becomes obsessed with an imaginary friend and when things start to get weird – like mirror reflections that move independently – their mother's boyfriend sets up video surveillance throughout the house.
Once again the suspense and shocks are generated through lengthy, static and silent scenes, forcing the viewer to study the frame for signs of, well, paranormal activity. When the spooky stuff does inevitably occur, the effect is jolting.
Paranormal Activity 3 is a much better sequel than the second film, thanks to the involvement of directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who made the mockumentary Catfish and have a good feel for DIY filmmaking.
STARRING: Chris Smith, Jessica Tyler Brown, Chloe Csengery, Lauren Bittner, Hallie Foote

Subject: Paranormal Activity 3
I didn't have high expectations going into this, as once a horror franchise gets up and running, the sequels seem to get worse each time! I was pleasantly surprised, however, and amazed at the spine-tingling effects they pulled off given a far larger budget than the first 2 films.
For the first time in my horror movie watching life, I actually kept wanting to put my hands over my eyes to prevent my body from constantly jumping - highly recommend to anyone into horror, the first two movies or just looking for an adrenaline rush!
The third film goes back to the laste 80's when Katie and Kristie (sisters from the first two films) were children and first encountered this 'paranormal activity'. Which is why I think it works so well; there's something about kids in horror films that makes it that more scarier. The story answers a lot of questions from the previous films, without making things too complicated. Oh, and it is as scary as hell!
If you love scary films, than you will LOVE this film!
