After almost two decades and much speculation, the man with the hat is finally back! He may be older but intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) can still deliver the action-packed goods.

This time the bad guys are Russians, led by Cate Blanchett (doing her best impersonation of Rocky & Bullwinkle’s Natasha) who wants to get her hands on the powerful Peruvian artifact of the title.

Also along for the ride are young rebel Shia LaBeouf (Transformers), shady Indy colleague Ray Winstone, mad researcher John Hurt and Raiders of the Lost Ark sidekick Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) making a welcome return.

So, was it worth the wait and does it do the original trilogy justice?

Let’s just say it’s no Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (thank goodness). The general consensus from fans, critics and moviegoers was that Indy had made a worthy return.

However there were gripes concerning the climax (which we won’t give away here, that’s what the internet is for) and a certain plot device that’s been used way too many times in previous Spielberg and George Lucas productions and has no place in the Indiana Jones universe.

STARRING: Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf

Did You Know...? Sean Connery was approached for a cameo appearance as Henry Jones Sr., Indiana’s father, but he turned it down, finding retirement too enjoyable.
