Inspired by edge of the seat TV shows like Twin Peaks and Lost, not to mention tearing a few pages out of Stephen King’s books; Alan Wake is a story about a horror author suffering writer’s block.
When Alan and his wife go on vacation in the idyllic town of Bright Falls, things slowly turn into a living nightmare. Alice, his wife, vanishes without a trace, and the scattered pages of a book he doesn’t remember writing start turning up, along with bizarre supernatural events.
Dark forces are at work in Bright Falls, taking over the inhabitants of the town, and forcing Alan to fight for survival using light as his only means of defense against the all consuming evil.
