Believe it or not, it was 20 years ago today (well, maybe not exactly today) that Sonic the Hedgehog taught us all to play... really bloody fast.
Forget your considered, genteel platform creeping, the spiky one brought balls-to-the-wall speed into the equation, and took more breath away than whoever Berlin were singing about on the Top Gun soundtrack.
So, he’s having a bit of a shindig when a time hole opens and sucks his party pals off through time. Cue a rescue mission where now Sonic encounters then Sonic. They scoot off on a collaborative race through 20 years of history based on almost every Sonic game ever, in order to get that party fired up again.
Can’t waste all that cake!
