Whether you like or loath the man, this larger than life promotions guru comes out swinging with his own boxing title set to release on the 360, DS and the Wii. The Wii format is where the majority of interest is likely to come from, although anyone who has ripped shoulder muscles and triceps boxing on Wii Sports, be warned! Facing some stiff opposition in the form of Fight Night 3, Don King has a lot to live up to. With 30 licensed fighters to choose from, DKPF would appear to have all corners covered. Players can even unlock 10 classic fighters from history once they have defeated the legends. Most players will be drawn to the rags-to- riches career mode, where a create-a-fighter option exists. Balancing a career with the right amount of training and media exposure is all part of the game. The crowd’s cheers will lift a popular fighter by increasing his adrenaline. There are three attributes that fighters require to succeed – health, stamina and power. The analogue sticks are used for movement and defence, with the buttons for jabs, uppercuts, roundhouses and button-slapping ‘hope for the best’ combos. While FN3 will take some beating, DKPF should keep boxing aficionados quietly content.
